  1. Bogosian is going to be put on waivers to terminate his contract today. Might be worthwhile offering him a league minimum deal to get some depth back on the back end. He would be an upgrade on Stone.
  2. I wonder if this is without Giordano and Hamonic in the lineup.
  3. Nice to see them keeping Bennett at center, though I wonder if Ryan is still getting in game shape after being sick for a week. I would put Robinson in over Rinaldo.
  4. Not to read too much into this, because I think it's just Gaudreau trolling everyone, but earlier today he took the Calgary Flames part out of his Twitter bio and just left at #13. He has since put the Calgary Flames part back in. Maybe there is a blockbuster deal coming, but, I think it was Gaudreau trolling the fans.
  5. I do find interesting that Treliving came out and said that Giordano will be on the road trip and that he wouldn't be going on the trip if there wasn't a chance that he would play. To me it sounds like he is trying to get teams to come down on their price for defensemen, by saying that they aren't in that dire of need for a defenseman because they are getting their captain back soon, even if that isn't the case.
  6. Yeah, when are they ever going to give guys like Dube, Mangiapane, Kylington, Andersson, Jankowski a chance to play in the NHL... Gawdin will be better served getting top line minutes on one of the best teams in the AHL, vs getting 4th line minutes with the Flames.
  7. Kase hasn't played since Feb.7th, he has missed the last 5 games. The team is saying it's an illness, but my guess is it's a concussion.
  8. Columbus lost Jones for 8-10 weeks, I wonder if they would want Brodie. In a hockey type trade maybe something like: Brodie and Jankowski For Anderson and Peeke. I know people are worried about Anderson's injury history and that is fair, but Anderson is the type of player that you take a chance on. He is big, he can skate, he plays physical and he goes hard to the net. He is a power forward in a league where those type of players are few and far between. Peeke is a big, RHS defenseman with good upside. I doubt Columbus would be eager to move him, but they might for Brodie.
  9. Glenn Gawdin was sent back down to Stockton. Makes sense with Ryan returning by Friday. With the Heat looking to be one of the top teams in the league, may as well have Gawdin down there and leading the way as opposed to sitting in the press box here.
  10. The Treliving interview this morning was fairly interesting. The question put to him was "You are a buyer now, but could that change by Monday?" Treliving saying that they are looking to make the team better, but that they have two UFA defensemen so they have to weigh that, and that team dictates the direction he takes. I just found it interesting that he brought up the two UFA defensemen, and suggests that he is at least listening to offers from other teams.
  11. I get what you are saying and I do like some of the things he brings to the table (energy, physical play) but overall he is a negative to this team when he touches the ice. I would much rather see Czarnik back with the team and on the ice.
  12. If Rinaldo is playing games for us in the playoffs then we really are in trouble.
  13. The thing is if you look at teams that have success in the playoffs they aren't adding top 6 forwards and top 4 defense at the deadline. The teams that do generally get bounced early.
  14. I am not sure that the NHL ever handed out their punishment for Peters. Chances are that there is still a suspension coming for Peters.
  15. Weren't we in a playoff spot or at least in the hunt when we traded Glencross? Can we do that again? Edit: I looked it up we were 3 points out at the time of the trade. So sort of similar situation as now.
  16. Sounds like Alec Martinez is going to Vegas for 2 2nd's. I wouldn't have minded Martinez, but not at that price.
  17. Scandella just went to St. Louis for a 2nd and a conditional 4th, pretty good return on investment for Montreal who paid a 4th to get Scandella earlier this year.
  18. Oh I agree, but not Brodie is shortsighted, but I don't think Treliving would get the green light from ownership. I still think St. Louis trading Shattenkirk while they were battling for a playoff spot and then trading Stastny when they were in a playoff spot is the model we should be looking at. That being said you need to have the buy in from ownership, and they have shown that they can't see the Forrest through the trees on a number of occasions.
  19. Picks and prospects are all you are going to get for Brodie at this point, and I think Treliving should be loading up on ammo for next season. This teams issues are going to get addressed at the draft, whether that be by drafting players, or using picks to acquire players. Load up on assets now to help them for that time. I get that this team is in a playoff spot, but the way things are going that isn't going to be the case by the end of the season and if they do make the playoffs it is going to be a 1st round exit. I am just not buying what this team is selling this season. They aren't good enough and Treliving and the ownership have to be honest with themselves and the team and look to be better next season.
  20. Glad we aren't on that list. I really like Dillon, and if we were in a different situation then he would be a guy I would want us to target, but he isn't going to cost a lot. I would think he could fetch a 1st or at least a 2nd and a good prospect.
  21. Man if Greene, a 37 year old UFA defenseman, gets a 2nd, and DeMelo a solid 3rd pairing defenseman gets a 3rd, imagine what Brodie, a top pairing defenseman who can play both sides, and can play on your PP and PK, would get in return. I know we are already testing our defensive depth, but I think we should really look at trading Brodie, given the returns depth defenders are bringing in.
  22. I mean we are playing Reider, Rinaldo and Lucic in the bottom 6, so it's not like there isn't room for improvement there. Again this isn't a hill I am willing to die on, but think it could work.
  23. I definitely get what you are saying and I am not sure I can disagree with it. I just think that with everything Ho-Sang has gone through he is ready to come in and put in the work to stick in the NHL. It is a risk, I just think that it is a low risk move.
  24. I have a suggested this player in the past and it went over like a lead balloon then, and it probably will happen again. What about moving Jankowski for a Josh Ho-Sang? Jankowski isn't going to get qualified by us and is most likely due to become a UFA at the end of the season. I think we should move him for whatever we can get at this point. Ho-Sang is a skilled RHS RW, which is something we are looking for. Part of my thought process here is that if I remember correctly Ho-Sang and Bennett played minor hockey together and would have some familiarity. A line of Dube-Bennett-Ho-Sang would be an interesting line that should be able to give you some depth offense. I get the reputation part of the story, but I think Ho-Sang is a guy that deserves a 2nd chance or even a 1st chance to show what he can do at the NHL.
