Sven will not have any concussion issues(sorry Zima) and will get a Calder nomination losing out to Nail Yakupov.

The Flames WILL make the playoffs.

The top line of Tangs, Cammy, and Iggy will mesh and be one of the most lethal offensive lines in the west.

Iggy will be in the top ten in scoring.

Kipper will get a Vezina nomination (losing to Lundqvist)

And the mother of all predictions is in my sig and I called it in the summer.

I have my doubts that either of Karlsson or Irving can step up and earn the job by being a solid backup...

Our only hope for that position may be to acquire one via trade, and otherwise I fear that if Kipper was to get hurt (which hopefully never happens) by being run over (as he was a number of times) or some other occurrence, the team would be royally screwed...

Not trying to be a pessimist here, I am just worried about going into the season with what seems to me to be even more concern than usual of that important position being solidified...

One thing I am curious about, is how Bettman might react if one or more high profile player(s) indeed carries out their threat to stay in the KHL for the season... If he were to decide that the "transfer agreement" between the two leagus was no longer valid due to the KHL no longer honoring the spirit of it (precedent is already there with Radulov) it could open some interesting doors...

The flames will struggle to find thier rhythm untill a big trade.
Baertschi will do O.K untill Feaster makes a massive trade that includes Mikael Backlund,J-Bo, Babchuck and some picks to get a solid 1st line center( moving Cammy to the wing) and mainly a 18-23 year old RW who plays with Baertschi who will then take off and be nominated for Calder.
Kipper will be injured.
A player who everyone thought was crap will turn out to be a key piece.
We will have one 34+ underdog.
Flames will get to second round.
Hartley will get nominated for Jack Adams.
Cervenka and Hudler will be paired then entire season.
Wideman will fail to meet his expectations.
Bettman will not be booed when presenting the cup!

1. Baertschi will do good and should be a Calder nominee.

2. Kipper will get hurt because of the workload put on him but I think CT will do ok as he gets more playing time.

3. J-Bo will have a good offensive season that we ve been waiting for since we got him.

4. Cammy will be our goal leader this year.

5. Wideman will be a disappointment for what he s getting paid.

6. Trade Iginla rumors will start on this board after the first week of the season.

7. Iggy will either be traded before the deadline and we will get ripped off on the return or he will sign for rest of career and we will overpay him.

I have a feeling the older guys are gonna be hurting with the play almost every other day.

Tough to predict this season. New coaching staff, additions of Hudler, Cervenka, Wideman, shortened season, leave question marks as to the impact each will have.

Loss of arguably our most consistent forward last year in Jokinen leaves a big hole to be filled.

This season will be defined by the start we have IMO. If we can start out with a few wins I think the confidence will get rolling, team will feel rejuvenated with the coaching/roster changes and run with it, finishing 7-8 in the conference.

If we start out weak, rotating wins and losses, the "same ole, same ole" attitude could creep back into the dressing room, and the season will be similiar to what we've seen in the past.

If Baertschi starts the season on the top 2 lines and stays there, he has the ability to make a run for the Calder. If he gets buried on the 3rd line, no chance.

One thing I hope we see this season is the coaching staff choose their lines and stick with them. It always annoys me when the lines are switched up on a nightly basis.

As for a prediction, I don't mean to be a debbie downer, but I kind of see us struggling in a stacked Western Conference, resulting in this franchise being changed forever as Iggy, and possibly Kipper, are traded at the deadline

My predication: Stajan emerges as the Flames best center. Sutter putting our best playmaking center on the fourth line was idiotic beyond belief. Not that he's a legit no. 1 center but he's the best we have.

This is tough, I've dwelled all day.
Wideman will prove to be a good acquisition offensively and be adequate on D.
Cervenka, Hudler, and most of our bottom 9 will be inconsistent/injured and leave us a little out in the cold.
Kiprusoff will be Kiprusoff after a slow start to the 1st few.
Karlsson will be a good backup. Had to go off the charts a bit!!

Brodie is going to work his way into the top 4 by season end. He will finish averaging at least 18-minutes per night for the latter half of the season.

Iginla is going to get on a role and get the city excited about possibly getting his 30-goals. But he will fall short.

The Flames will be in 8 at the deadline but will falter down the stretch and fall to 11.

Babchuk plays at least 25-games this season. Smith plays at least 30.

The Flames still haven't figured out who is the 1C by season end. Cervenka, Backlund, Tanguay, Stajan, and Cammalleri all get some sort of audition.

Baertschi works his way onto a line with Iginla for at least 15-game this season.

I'm adding a non-Flames prediction: Detroit misses the playoffs this year. (helps us sneak in!)

Baertschi will play well for us, score around 15 goals 15 assists.

We will struggle on defense again.

Our offense will be better than last year, along with a better power play.

We will miss the playoffs by 4 points.

Backlund will stay healthy the whole season and prove that he is our best center.

Cammy will lead the team in goal scoring with 28.

I see the following happening this year:
1) Flames make playoffs
2) Top line will be Tanguay/Cervenka/Iggy
3) Line 2a will be GlenX/Stajan/Huddler
Line 2b will be Sven/Backlund/Cammi
4) Line 4 will be comprised of Jackman, Jones, Winchester, Stempniac and Comeau.
Depending on the opponent, you will likely see these line combo's:
- Winchester/Jones/Jackman
- Comeau/Jones/Stempniac
5) Defence pairings will be Gio/Wideman, Brodie/Bouwmeester, Smith/Sarich/Butler
6) Injury callups will be Horak, Street and Breen
7) Babchuk will be traded
8) Carson will be waived and sent to Abby
9) Irving will be returned to Abby and assigned to ECHL for a stint
10) Sven will be nominated for Calder
11) JBow will have a bounceback season with more points than ever before
12) Wideman will silence the haters by being the QB for our powerplay; he will get a crapload of points
13) Stajan will see a return to decent numbers
14) The 4th line will be a combo of toughness and scoring
15) Kipper will win enough games by himself to get us into the playoffs

1) Backlund will have a slightly better season.

2) Cammy will have a bounce back.

3) Sven will do just fine. (Granlund Calder though)

4) The team, however, will struggle. Injuries will play another key role in ruining our chance.

5) A lot of young teams with delusional fans will make the playoffs. Ie Toronto, Edmonton, etc. We will never here the end of it...

God reading my predictions and others on here is just sad. We literally have no confidence in this team coming close to the playoffs. Of all Canadian teams, we are the most deserving for a pleasant surprise this year... Yes Toronto and Edm, we deserve it.

I refuse to predict the endgame of the Calgary Flames hockey club, however. I will predict they will WOW us the fans with what little gaming they have left. Because, the last time I predicted a win..... or a Shutout, or something grand..... didn't happen. Everyone got mad at me. But it would be wacky magical if Iggy did score a wacky magical number the sum of 25 and 25.
