It's hard to pick a starter for tonight.

Smith has played well, but has been winless in his last 3 starts, while Rittich has 3 wins in his last 3.

Last 5 starts

Smith 2-3-0 - 10 goals against

Rittich 4-1-0 - 12 goals against

Looks like Smith gets the start...   I had guessed Rittich...

Do you think that before we start the playoffs that we need to identify a starter? I think we alternate goalies in these last games, then actually start Smith the first game, go with experience, and if they win keep him in, if you lose it's Rittich's net.

Smith might have the experience, and he might just pull it together and get in the groove...   But it's also hard to ignore Smith's .896 SV% and 2.88 GAA vs Rittich's .911 SV% and 2.63 GAA..

Hard to say what the plan for the playoffs is at this point...   and I think you are right and we will see both goalies pretty much equally, at least to close out the regular season...

Smith could step up and be the close the door goaltender that we all saw for years...   He certainly should have the incentive, as he is running out of time to do that...   But we have also all seen the decline in his performance, particularly since he was injured last season...

Rittich just might also step up and steal the spot...   It certainly wouldn't be the first time the younger goaltender of the two on the team did that heading into the playoffs...

Let's hope one of them does seize upon the opportunity at hand...   If one of them doesn't really shine, we'll see both goalies get their turns...

Nope. Having the comfort knowing that either can get you the win is a luxury. Average goaltending from either moving forward gives the other guy an opportunity. The two are pushing each other nicely.

I think that Peters already knows what he has.  His focus is on getting points, not playing guys to see what they are.

Hard to ignore Rittich's win record in the last 5.

Hard to ignore how well he's played in those games.

Starting the playoffs as "win and you're in" is a tough way to go.

Lose the 1st game against the 8th seed, then game 2 is a must win.

The good news for the Sens is that 30% of their fans are extremely delusional dedicated.

Hopefully we have a solid practice tonight and don't think it's a guaranteed 2pts. They hung 6 on Toronto last Saturday.

Let's get on them early and often and don't give them any kind of motivation.

The Sharks have LA tonight so let's not overlook this one.

Let the Oilers overlook them on Saturday.lol

This is gonna be like the Devils game.

They are you but are gonna work very hard. Use the advantage in experience and take control of the game. Can’t make many more silly mistakes
