The NHL needs to get rid of this stupid “don’t let refs decide a game” BS. A penalty is a penalty whether it’s 2 mins into the game or in the last 2 mins. Call the rule book all the time and you wouldn’t have so many issues. Instead you have a double standard not only game to game but within a game.

When Derek Ryan has as many 5v5 points (8) as Johnny Gaudreau and Elias Lindholm and more 5v5 points than Sean Monahan (7), there's a problem.

And his line gets minimal ice time.  He should be the second line center not Backlund.

Definitely not a penalty at the blue line!!  Lovely!!

Calgary didn't play well enough to win this game, they took the entire 2nd period off and it cost them.

Two games in a row the refs have decided the outcome of a Flames game with a call and none call. The Flames were outworked and out skated in this one for most of the game anyway which is becoming concerning because it is happening more often than not.

What bugs me is we get a grade A chance and can;t hit an empty net.

Or Lucic hits Rieder's stick on the way to an empty net.

And they get extended time to out wait Talbot, because nobody is coming back.

The worst part of these last few games is this tendency to only start playing in the 3rd when we’re trailing.  We’ve done this ‘comeback kids’ , most goal in the 3rd period stuff already. None of it got us far

thought the flames had a good first but needed to bury one.
2nd they came out well with the PP but again didn’t score. Soft call on Bennett give up a PK and it seemed to put them on their heels.
3rd thought they were the much better team. Difference was not scoring on the 3 on 1.

Pretty fine line there and that’s the theme right now when you don’t score. Flames need to find a way to get on a roll offensively because the rest of their game is pretty good.

I missed the entire game, but looks like Dallas was the better team.

Surrendered the first goal in all 4 games on the homestand and trailed 2-0 in 3 of the 4. Troubling trend

Lack of scoring is the issue right now.

It's not that we don;t get chances, we just are not converting.

A 3 on 1 should be a shot on net.

More times than not, it's passed into the feet or the shot is wide.

I don;t know the reason for Stone not playing more than a single shift in the 3rd, but the coach saw something.

Brodie was not good with him tonight, but was not a lot better elsewhere.

I think they have to use Brodie with Gio only.

Let Hanifin-Ras be the middle minutes guys and 2nd PP.

Sit Stone already and use Davidson.

JH is not gaining any space, and his linemates are not opening any for him.

2 days till the next game, figure it out.

Missed this game and it sounds like it was a frustrating one.

Dallas truly is becoming a thorn in this team's side..

Much like playing at the Honda Center they just can't figure out the Stars.

Unfortunately, i don't think anything will change unless there is a shake up and it needs to be a considerable one player wise.  JG, Monny and Gio is not going to work for us anymore.

i really don’t think that it needs to be that drastic.

i would try to take the best defenders away from Johnny and Monny.

I think the way to do that is play These pairs:

Tkachuk, Lindholm, Mangiapane

Gaudreau, Monahan, Ryan

Bennett, Backlund, Frolik

Lucic, Jankowski, Reider

i get the , “oh we need the RW!” But we need Johnny going more.

We have gotten away from sheltering the top line.

I don't have a problem with your lines other than saying it's home games where we need to exploit the other teams.

Play our best against the weakest (last change).

I like Rieder's ability to PK and his forechecking.

But he's not meshing with Janko.

Maybe an offensive player like Phillips could add some finish.

Or a defensive C with some scoring abilities like Gawdin could help balance playing Lucic.
