They made the right call.

Also so when you start as poorly as the Flames have, you don’t deserve any breaks

Boy, you reached back for that one.

That was before the new and improved Backlund.

I'm tired of Gaudreau's million breakaways and come up empty. He needs to practice on breakaway this summer!

Gaudreau is in his own head when he gets a breakaway. Goes to the backhand every time, he lost control this time, but thats what he was going to do.

Hard to get excited anymore on a flames breakout.  Wonder what the percent of goal on breakouts for Flames compared to other teams.

This is why the Flames won’t succeed in the playoffs. They are slow starters and play to get a feel for a game instead of dictating the play. They wait to see how other teams start.

Another Satoshi Nakamototy first period. Surprise! I like Rittich but I wonder why he is in the net when Talbot is winning?

We went from 3 lines that had jump to 2 gritty lines?

how so?

do you mean after they put the Ryan line back together?

Oh well, write off that period I guess.

Best chance was a breakaway where JH was lightly hooked, which I guess is legal if you are not a Flames player.

Reffing these days reminds me of the Chaisson goal last night.

The D was picked going to Chaisson and he gets a shot away.

I mean we line up Lucic against Reaves on the opening shift.

Grit over skill.

Make big hits.

Bring Rinaldo into the game to play with Bennett.

Make them a grit line instead of skill or speed.

Disagree, Lehner came out of the blue to block it, in my view it was incidental contact as a result, there was no way he was going to have control of the puck. It fell to their feet and Backs knocked it in.  Bottom line - any contact with the goalie on International Women’s day - its goalie interference.

Apparently, this is the type of team you ice in the playoffs.

Be tough.

Throw hits.

Play slow.

Did you not hear picking is legal now unless it is the flames that do it.

Yup, way too passive .

They let the other team consistently go into their barn and land the first blow. Then they end up on their heels all night.

I don’t think they’re playing playoff hockey. The VGK are slowing the Flames’ game down and doing what I think you’re getting at.

the Flames only got physical after the VGK were laying it into them. Before that the Flames weren’t skating.
