Couture is being a dick and refuses to fight anyone but Fedor so the UFC has stripped him of his title and he is in the middle of a lawsuit with them since he is still under contract I believe.

I would love to see the interim Heavyweight Champion Nogeria (SP?) fight Kimbo, it would be a very short fight. The guy that beat Kimbo in that street fight that made him famous fought briefly in the UFC and he got absolutley dominated.

If someone like Brock Lesnar who has at least a wrestling background couldn't last 5 mins I really don't think a street fighter has any place unless he can improve his ground game. He would get submitted in the 1st round guaranteed.

I didn't realize any of this. I haven't been paying close attention since I don't have a television.

That would be interesting though. I always liked seeing strikers against submission specialists. You either know someone is going to get caught or the other guy is gonna get knocked the George Bush out.

I just saw that GSP and Serra will be fighting for the title on April 19. I can't wait, time for GSP to get his title back.

I believe GSP has the title. After Serra beat him he had to give it up as he couldn't defend the title due to a training injury. This is when he was going to fight Hughes. Instead, they had a fight between GSP and Hughes for the title. GSP won. Now Serra has a chance to get it back.

I can't see GSP taking Serra lightly and getting caught like he did last time.

GSP has the interim title. Serra is still technically the Welterweight Champion. This fight is to unify the two.

The card at UFC 83 is one of the best I have ever seen, I am very excited and will definately be getting this PPV.

After getting sucked into watching the original Contender, I figured I would see the first season of TUF. I have loyally watched ever since. Now that it is halfway through TUF S07, I still liked it as they have kept it a little fresh. I still like the Contender approach of treating the contestants with respect instead of as animals. After watching Contender Asia ( Muay Thai boxing) I am interested if that franchise will grow or just not compete against TUF? UFC MMA still is the best!

Well, Muay Thai is part of MMA. You see several fighters employ the clinch very well. Anderson Silva (Current MW Champ, Argueable best pound for pound MMA fight there is) does it very will, just ask Rich Franklins nose :P.

I am not a huge TUF fan. I like what it has done for the sport exposure wise but what I really hate is how it puts a hold on title fights. For example: Noguira is the current HW belt holder (I am ignoring Randy Couture because he will be stripped of his title soon I hope) and he is coaching the next season of TUF against Frank Mir. After the season is over Mir/Big Nog will have a title fight but that is about a year off. Nog will not fight in the meantime and that is lame. I want to see a fighter defend his belt more than once a year.

For MMA fans out there what's your impression of Kimbo Slice?

Seems to me that he's really not a Mixed Martial Artist but rather a street thug. Regardless, he's beaten some tough guys in (and out) of the ring.

Fad or real deal?

Fad or real deal?

This should answer your question. ---->

or this

Ive been watching him on the internet forever, he's the real deal. Once I heard he got into it legit, I was pumped. Im by no means a UFC or MMA fan, but this guy is far from a fad. I heard he just ripped some guys ear off.

I've seen those fights and he is a beast...when standing up.

His latest opponent was bleeding from the ear from a punch. His ear didn't get ripped off. That is actually the fight that makes me question what kind of fighter he is. His relatively unknown opponent controlled him and almost won the fight on the ground. A different referree might have stopped the fight while Kimbo was getting punched for almost a minute without being able to defend himself. After that fight Kimbo admitted that he had a lot to learn and needed to improve his ground game.

I think once he faces a guy who is really good on the ground, Kimbo will be exposed as a one-dimensional fighter. That one dimension is incredible mind you. I don't understand why he doesn't just get into boxing instead.

I'm indifferent. I watch it on tv occasionally and I've pubbed a few PPV's.

I'm not repulsed by the violence or any of that silliness, I think it's just okay, I guess.

One thing I do find annoying about it is watching it with the general public...

I'm cool with respecting the art of fighting, notsomuch the testosterone, machismo and libido it brings out in too many muscleheads and emptyheads, not to slight the humble fans...

I just looked at Kimbo as the kinda fighter who, IF YOU CAN take him down, you pretty much deserve the victory. Its almost like the end boss of a game, you know his weakness, but good luck doing it. This guy will beat anyone standing up, anyone. Im sure there is a fighter technical enough to take him down, but will he be strong enough to finish the job? Is there a fighter stronger then Kimbo and technical enough to get this guy to tap? I guess we'll find out. But I assumed it would be awhile until that ever happened.
