George St. Pierre Vs. BJ Penn UFC 94 Sat Jan 31/7:00pm pt

Complete and utter domination.

GSP just demolished one of the best fighters in the world and made it look like he was stealing candy from a baby.

I hope he gets a shot at Silva and the MW title. What a fight that would be.

Murray I was thinking the very same thing. I hadn't seen GSP fight much before tonight and was anxious to see how he fights. Your right, utter domination. I have seen a lot of Anderson Silva's fights and he is truly a gifted fighter now I am more so than ever thinking along the lines of seeing those two fight. I know it is one that would go the full five rounds for sure barring some miraculous gamora or crazy tapout hold. Great Fight. Best I have seen to date.

GSP absolutely annihilated BJ. I was really hoping for a 5th round but the doctor called it stops. GSP is amazing!

GSP and Silva would be a pretty cool fight, but silva only has 1 more fight after UFC 97 and I don't think it will be against GSP.

Wow, what a great PPV especially considering how terrible 93 was IMO.

The last 3 fights were all exciting, I really didn't think Jones would beat Bonnar but he destroyed him, Machida was expected as was GSP. I didn't think GSP would control the fight the way he did though, that was a pleasant surprise. GSP is by far the best pound-for-pound fighter I have ever seen, I can't wait for his next fight. He is just so much fun to watch.

The best fighter right now, and possibly ever.

However, isn't Silva two weight classes above him? That would be asking alot to ask one of them to move up/down two, or for GSP to move up AND for Silva to move down. Neither would be fighting at their prime weight, which isn't good. Partly why BJ looked so bad, he was 18 pounds over his prime weight.

Anderson Silva fights as a MW(185 lbs) so that is only one class up from GSP at WW(170 lbs). And GSP walks around at 185 anyway.

Silva would be a little larger/heavier in the fight but he isn't a wrestler so that extra weight wouldn't mean much especially considering how great a wrestler GSP is.

Dana White has pretty much said that if Silva defeats Leites at UFC 97 and GSP beats Alves(probably UFC 100) then they will face each other. I hope it happens, both fighters are extremely dominant and walk through their opponents. I think GSP would have a tough time but it would be a war unlike Penn getting the snot beat out of him.

Oh my bad, I thought Silva was Light-Heavy.

Oh my bad, I thought Silva was Light-Heavy.

He made a light heavyweight debut last summer but that has been it.

There is also Wanderlei Silva and Thiago Silva who are LHW's(just in case you were getting them confused)

Yeah, I know the difference. Although what the hell is up with that anyway? Silva isn't that common of a name.

It is in Brazil lol

Actually if I remember right I think it is one of the most common names there.

Edit: Yep, most common Portuguese name

Shows what I know...

I also recently found out that Silva plans on retiring by mid-2009, when his current contract is up. Maybe before GSP gets his shot?

I have heard rumor of him retiring too. But I don't think it will be before summer.

He has 6 more fights in his contract so GSP should be one of those if they both keep winning.

Maybe Silva will even face GSP at UFC 100, that would be amazing imo.
