In the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, MA Fleury went #1 overall. The Flames got Phaneuf at #9 after Suter and Coburn.
If the draft could be re-done, who do you think would be #1 overall?

I based my picks on position if they drafted a forward I replaced them with what would be a better option now, and dropped those who have been disappointments with players from other rounds.

1. Unchanged Pitts wanted a franchise goalie he is the only one
2. Unchanged best forward at the time numbers would be better with more help

Not too bad. I would probably take Pavalski, Richards, and Eriksson a bit higher than where you have them.

No matter how you slice it that was a sick draft.

I don't understand your rankings. I am having a hard time grasping why Michalek, Horton, Zherdev are so high and Weber, Perry, Richards so low.

Robert Nillson and Eric Fehr over Mike Richards? Corey Perry 26th, Shea Weber...last? This is all over the map.

We did well but so did Anaheim. Getzlaf @ 19 & Perry @ 28 was a great 1st round.

Truthfully, I'm not sure the Flyers got the better 2. I wouldn't mind if they could do a straight up swap.

I doubt the Penguins change anything, they won a cup.

I think Shea Weber is best Defenseman from the 2003 Draft, he is that good.

I bet Edmonton wishes they selected Parise and didn't trade down and get Pouliot.

And, i don't quite understand why everyone has Getzlaf at the top of the list. I understand the guy is a great player, gritty and all, but i think Eric Staal plays the same game and has more offensive flair. Personally, i would take Staal before Getzlaf.

Getzlaf is the better player in every facet. That's why he'll be on Team Canada while Staal is watching on TV with his brothers.
